Vaneyella

Heding & Panning, 1954

2 species

Dendrochirotid holothirians with 18-20 simple finger-like tentacles, which are formed into cup-shaped suckers. Podia are in two rows on the radii. The interradii are missing. The calcareous ring is simple and made up of 10 pieces. The interradii are also simple. The radialia are of different form and correspond to the arrangement of the tentacles. There are no forked tails. The ossicles, found in the epidermis, are arranged like shingles. They are largely perforated, possessing knotty or thorny shapes on their ends. (Heding & Panning, 1954)
