Tentacles pelto-digitate 10-12. Digits 5-7 on each side, the terminal pair longest. Polian vesicle single, or there may be several. No gustatory organs. Ciliated funnels not in stalked clusters. Calcareous particles consist of wheels collected in papillae and large sigmoid bodies about 200 µm long, seated in the skin; no miliary granules in either the skin or the longitudinal muscles. Deposits, S-shaped rods, and sometimes wheels with 6 spokes, grouped in papillae. (Clark, 1907)

Chiridotid genus with wheels and sigmoid ossicles present, scattered, or in groups or clustered into papillae; wheels with serrations continuous around the inner margin; tentacles 10 or 12. (Rowe, 1976)
