Staurothyone

Clark, 1938?

3 species

ten tentacles, 2 ventral not smaller, body cylindrical in middle, not tapering, pedicels numerous over body, more abundant ventrally than dorsally, calcareous ring stout, radial and interradial pieces with conspicuous anterior point and slightly concave posteriorly but with no prolongations of radial pieces. Calcareous particles not abundant, scattered cruciform plates, and abundant minute rosettes. Anal teeth present in adults. (Clark, 1938)

ten tentacles of about the same size. Feet numerous and distributed between radii and interradii, more numerous on the ventral side than on the dorsal side. The calcareous ring is simple, strong, without forked tail. In the body wall plates, large cross-shaped and also small rosettes. (Panning, 1949)
