Psoliocucumis

Heding, 1942

2 species

Bilateral symmetrical cucumarids, with the bivium dorsally different from the trivium. Mouth subdorsal, anus dorsal. Water-vascular appendages in rows along the ammbulacra, those of the trivium large, tube-feet, those of the bivium papilliform. Ten equal tentacles and a simple calcareous ring, which is always well developed. Intestine with large muscular stomach. One Polian vesicle and one stone canal. Respiratory trees lacking or quite rudimentary, retractor muscles free. Calcareous deposits four-armed crosses or rounded perforated plates with or without a central spire, those of the deeper layer often somewhat different from the more superficial. (Heding, 1942)

Radial feet in 2 rows; 10 equal tentacles; calcareous ring simple, without forked tail; 10 respiratory trees more or less regressive. In the skin there are table like constructions. (Panning, 1949)

Feet only in radii, 10 equal tentacles. The calcareous ring is well developed, simple without forked tail. Ventral muscles are present. The respiratory trees are more or less regressive. In the skin of younger animals there are 4 armed table-like deposits; in middle sized animals these are sometimes replaces by deposits constructed in the fashion of plates with handles; older animals have not support deposits in the skin. The change in the calcareous deposits is connected with the diminishing of the calcareous deposits. (Panning, 1949 for subgenus Abyssocucumis)

Feet only in the radii. 10 equal tentacles. Calcareous ring simple without forked tail, well developed. Respiratory trees strongly regressive. In the skin there are table-like structures in 1 or 2 forms and in 1-2 layers. (Panning, 1949 for subgenus Psoliocucumis)
