Paracucumis

Mortensen, 1925

1 species

Tentacles 12. Body elongate, worm shaped. Podia entirely lacking or, at most, some few, quite rudimentary ones in the middle of the body and at the tail end. Radial pieces of the calcareous ring unequally developed. (Mortensen, 1925)

Polytentaculated dendrochirote holothurian. The body is curved and pulled out into a long thin tail. The podia are generously reformed. Tentacle number fluctuates; normal is 12, but often 13, seldom 14 or 15. There are 2 stunted midventral tentacles, the others are all the same size and normally branched. The calcareous ring is simple and without forked tails. The lateral radialia are either simple or supplied with insertions for radial tentacles. The midventral radialium is always simple and is without tentacle insertions. Calcareous bodies are large, grated plates with or without many attachments, which are built up of many reticular types. (Heding & Panning, 1954)
