Mouth anterior subventral; tentacles 15 non retractile. Ventro lateral ambulacra with a single row of large tube feet, mid ventral ambulacrum naked. Dorsal ambulacra each with a single row of very elongate flexible non retractile papillae. The skin contains numerous wheels, simple rods or cruciform bodies. (Mortensen, 1927)

Circumoral papillae absent. Midventral tube feet absent. Dorsal papillae in single or double rows or bands. Ventrolateral papillae absent. Wheels lacking marginal teeth. (Hansen, 1975)
