Holothuria (Stichothuria)

Unique to this holothurian, one will find that there are present within the integument great numbers of spicules in the form of C or O, similar to spicules in some species in the genus Stichopus. These are accompanied by a number of regular and irregular buttons; and in the dorsal integument torted pseudo-buttons. But it is because of the Cs and Os that he assigns this species to a new monospecific subgenus. (Cherbonnier, 1980)
