| | BohadschiaJäger, 1833 13 species Tentacles 20; pedicels usually scattered but sometimes arranged in three rows on the ventral side, papillae or papillae and pedicels scattered on the dorsal side; anus sometimes surrounded by 5 groups of papillae but single calcified anal papillae (anal teeth) absent; body wall muscular and thick (with a mean thickness of about 6 mm and a range of 1-15 mm); all measurements from preserved specimens; size moderate to large, up to 400 mm long; calcareous ring stout, well developed with distinctly scalloped anterior margin, the radial plates about twice as big as the interradial plates and with a median ante-rior tooth-like median projection, the union between the plates sometimes imperceptible; spicules consisting of simple grains or short dichotomously branched rods rarely spinous rods or both, tables and buttons or elaborate plates never present.
