Medium sized to large forms. Feet numerous, fairly stout. Tentacles large bushy, the 2 ventral smaller. Skin soft, with few spicules. Calcareous ring stout with broad radials with distinct posterior prolongations and tall interradials with a short anterior tooth. Spicules scattered swollen 4 holed buttons often incomplete. Feet with loose meshed end plate and numerous supporting rods, undoubtedly derived from tables. Introvert and tentacles with rosettes. (Deichmann, 1941)

Medium sized to large forms, feet numerous (in radii and interradii), ten large bushy tentacles, 2 ventral ones smaller. Skin soft. Calcareous ring stout with broad radialia, high interradialia and distinctly forked tails. In the skin there are scattered plates with 4 perforations, puffed up but without distinct bumps. The feet have loosely meshed plates and numerous rods which derive from tables. The introvert and tentacles have rosettes. (Panning, 1949)
