SUPPORT

I currently have nine funded projects supported by numerous local and federal agencies:

National Oceanic and Aatmospheric Administration

The role of oceanographic processes in the entrainment and dispersal of larval fish from the fringing reefs of Guam (Co-Principle Investigator – Andrew Halford, UOG Marine Lab; Dr. Eric Wolanski, Australian Institute of Marine Science).

Improving the management of Guam's reef-associated fisheries through an assessment of destructive fishing practices and the impact on reef fish assembleges (Principle Investigator - Andrew Halford, UOG Marine Lab).

An assessment of fish functional diversity inside and outside Guam's marine preserves: Is there a significant 'preserve' effect? (Principle Investigator - Andrew Halford, UOG Marine Lab).

Sportfish Restoration

Connectivity of reef fish populations within the Mariana Islands and the greater Micronesia region (Principal Investigator – Andrew Halford, UOG Marine Lab; Collaborators - Dr. Steven Swearer, University of Melbourne).

Population biology and assessment of the thumbprint emperor (Lethrinus harak) from the fringing reefs of Guam (MSc. Student – Brett Taylor).

Assessing patterns of movement and life history traits of the orangspine unicornfish (Naso lituratus) and bluespine unicornfish (N. unicornis) in relation to marine preserves on Guam (Principle Investigator - Dr. Kevin Rhodes, UOG Marine Lab).

Movement patterns, recruitment, and spawning frequency of Lethrinus harak in relation to Guam's marine preserves (Co-Principle Investigator – Brett Taylor, UOG Marine Lab).

WestPAC – West Pacific Fishery Management Council

An analysis of the biological characteristics of parrotfish spawning aggregations from Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (Collaborator – Prof. Howard Choat, James Cook University).

National Fish and Wildlife Foundation

Characterising the spawning aggregations of Epinephelus fuscoguttatus at Pohnpei (Prinicple Investigator - Dr. Kevin Rhodes, UOG Marine Lab).
