Dascyllus trimaculatus (Rüppell)
(Three-spot Dascyllus; Fomho)
SL: to 10 cm (photo: 6 cm SL, Facpi Pt., 26 m)

Juveniles of this species often associate with sea anemones, occasionally sharing the anemone with Amphiprion chrysopterus.  Adults are found in small groups around coral heads in lagoon, submarine terrace, and outer reef slope habitats to a depth of 55 m.  They feed on zooplankton and algae and are much less abundant than the other two Dascyllus species.

INDO-PACIFIC: Red Sea to the Pitcairn group and Line Is., n. to s. Japan, s. to Lord Howe.
